LONG-TERM BENEFITS OF CHIROPRACTIC CARE |
|
People in the Normal control group have a 200% increase in their ability to resist disease versus a Sick control group. All
of the Chiropractic patients tested revealed a 200% improvement in
their ability to resist disease over and above that of the Normal control group. Immune Competency This test represents the body's
capacity to develop an immune response: the condition of being immune;
security against a particular disease; non-susceptibility to effects of
foreign microorganisms or toxic antigens. The results of this test were
almost parallel to the Oxidative Response Index results. Normal
control group people have a 200% increase in their immune competency
over a Sick control group. All of the subjects in the Chiropractic group showed a 200% improvement in their immune competency over and above that of the Normal control group. No Decrease in Immune Competency with Age Experts agree that there is a
steady decline in immune competency with age. This decline has
been proposed as the primary reason for the degenerative diseases
associated with aging. Not one of the Chiropractic subjects had any decrease of their immune response with age. Dr. Pero's Comments "The seriously ill group. . .have
a very suppressed response to oxidative stress. . .and suffer genetic
damage. . .the Normal individuals have approximately a two-fold better
ability to resist (oxidative stresses). The long-term
Chiropractic care (group) had a significant increase over the Normal
individuals. . .What Chiropractic could have done is optimize whatever
genetic abilities you have so that you now can fully express that
(resistance to genetic damage) and normal individuals or diseased
individuals cannot." "No one that I know of has shown
where a non-chemical interference with the immune system could cause an
increase in immune competence (like Chiropractic did). . . We have
never seen a group that we can clinically distinguish as having this
kind of improvement in immune response." "On all 96 (subjects in the
Chiropractic maintenance group) we saw no deviation with the immune
competence by our assay procedures with age." "You know how hard (medical
researchers) (are) looking for a way of positively influencing these
processes. I can't tell you the tremendous effort that is being
made and no one's got anything, including me, except this one
thing." Long Term Chiropractic Care for You & Your Family Keeping your family's immune system
working well is a major concern parents have for their children.
Boosting the immune system before they get sick is always superior to
boosting it after they get sick. This research shows how
consistent Chiropractic care boosts the immune system. Increasing the
function of your immune system is one of the important reasons to have
consistent, long-term Chiropractic care for you and your family. |

Between 1986 and 1988, Dr. Ronald
Pero, an internationally respected cancer researcher, was the principal
investigator in the Chiropractic Research Project, Wallenberg
Laboratories, University of Lund, Lund, Sweden. They studied
health and immune indicators of 96 people who had received long term
maintenance chiropractic care (minimum of five years on a once weekly
to once monthly basis). Three groups were compared: 1) Sick
control group 2) Normal (or well) control group 3)
Long-term Chiropractic patient group. Subjects for the study ranged from
21 to 87 years of age. Their life-styles included little or no
smoking, exercise, "good" diet, little or no alcohol, and high
intensity, long term Chiropractic care. The results were as
follows: Glutathione Transferase Test The test (GTTSBO) was done in
order to determine whether or not the patients being tested were
genetically normal with regard to disease susceptibility. This
was important, because if they were not normal for this parameter, they
could not be compared to previous norms. All subjects were
normal in this area. Oxidative Stress Response Index This test was done to determine the body's ability to resist disease by repairing the genetic material called DNA. In other words, this test measures the body's ability to repair damaged DNA. |
